How We Started LOVIN’ IT KETO

Lovin’ It Keto came together after months of cooking, baking and sharing my keto recipes on Instagram. Family and friends took an interest, encouraging me to continue. People started commenting back on recipes that they had tried and loved.

My own move to a keto lifestyle began just before the COVID-19 pandemic, when I had to lose weight for surgery.

Months, then years, of working out and eating healthy were not showing on the scale. Letting it all out at the boxing gym and warrior poses in yoga class were not enough. Ancient grains, all natural sweeteners and Buddha bowls were also not enough.

I had been struggling with my weight since early adulthood, until my partner suggested keto to help reach the weight needed for my surgery.

In the first month, I lost more than 10 lbs. Hope stirred…

On the fourth month, I had reached the weight needed for my surgery, having lost a jaw dropping 39 lbs. I was sold!

On the eight month, my surgery was done and I had not only reached a “normal” BMI for the first time in nearly 20 years, but also clocked in below my stretch goal. That means that I was down over 60 lbs, and never going back!

To me, keto is not a fad diet. It is a lifestyle that has, quite literally, changed my life!
